Anthony "Bebe" Cipolla

Anthony "Bebe" Cipolla made his final play on August 5th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and friendships.

Born in Stamford, Connecticut, on February 22, 1929,Bebe was the son of the late Louis and Margaret Cipolla.

He is survived by his loving children and stepchildren: Cathy (John), Dana (Bobby), Robbie, Andrea, Joan, and Richard (Kathy). He was a proud grandfather to Robert (Merrianne), Casey (Jimmy), Nicki (Eric), Anna (Seth), Jenna (Diego), Jessie (Robby), Richie, John (Ange), and Alex. He was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, and 10 niece and nephews all of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy.

He was predeceased by his beloved wives, Anna and Lucille Cipolla; his sister, Lorraine, and her husband, Charles; his sister-in-law, Jean Farina, and her husband, Fred; his sister-in-law, Theresa Cipolla; his son-in-law, Drew Pagliaro; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Cipolla; and his step-grandson, Scott Winter. Believe it or not, Bebe leaves behind his older brother, Joseph Cipolla, of Stamford, Connecticut. Bebe was best known for his lifelong love of softball. He played for many years in Stamford before continuing his passion in Florida, where he became a respected "trash talker" on the field. His dedication to the game earned him induction into the Boca Senior Softball Hall of Fame.

His teammates had a saying that perfectly captured his love for banter: "Who's up after Tony? The other team." Whether he was on the softball field, sharing stories with family, or teasing those he loved most, Bebe had a gift for making people laugh. His quick wit and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression even in his later years.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bebe's remarkable life and the joy he brought to so many. Though he has made his final play, his legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will continue to live on in all who knew him. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 9:30AM to 11:30AM at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:45am at Sacred Heart Church, with a burial to follow at St. John Cemetery Darien, CT.
