Blasina Fred passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at the remarkable age of 104.

Blasina was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, on February 2, 1922, to the late Orocio and Agustina Fred. She lived a meaningful life centered on faith, family, and caring for others.

A devoted member of Samaria Evangelical Church, Blasina served as Co-missionary, Treasurer and Deacon. Her caring and generous nature also led her to serve as a foster grandmother in a Bronx preschool for more than two decades. During those years, she shared her love, wisdom, kindness, and nurturing spirit, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those she cared for.

Blasina cherished her family. She is survived by her daughters, Juana and Lillian; generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Blasina was predeceased by her husband, Carmelo; her sister, Mercedes; and her children, Carmen, Eduardo, Federico, and Rosa.

Blasina will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her strength, her generous heart, and her unwavering faith. Through her family, her church, and the many children she lovingly cared for, her legacy of compassion and love will continue for generations.

Blasina lived a beautiful life. She will remain forever in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
