Eugene S. Buccino

Eugene "Gene/Gino" S. Buccino, 89, a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Gene was born on August 15, 1936, to the late Carlo Buccino and Andonetta (Pagliarulo) Buccino. He attended J.M. Wright Technical School before joining the U.S. Army in 1960, where he served until 1962.

When he returned home, he married the love of his life, Rosa (Sgroi) Buccino and started a family. He began working with his father's company, Carlo Buccino & Sons, as heavy equipment operator and foreman. After years of construction, he went to work as a mason for the Stamford Board of Education, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. After he retired, he enjoyed spending his free time fly fishing, wood carving and tending to his vegetable garden.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rosa; their four children, Antonetta Buccino, Carlo Buccino, Roseann Hamilton (Brian); Francesca Buccino; and his two grandchildren Quincy and Nina.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers, Frank and Anthony.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 28th, from 4:00-8:00 at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 29, at 10:30 am at St. Cecelia's Church, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford CT. A private burial will be held at a later date.
