Evelyn Aponte

It saddens our hearts to share that on April 26, 2026, Evelyn Aponte, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife, relative, and friend passed away due to an unfortunate accident. To the world, she was known as a loving and caring woman-but to her family, she was everything. She was our hero.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 10, 1959, but raised in the Bronx, NY - was a strong woman in every sense. One who carried all the traits of an August Leo Woman: independent, unfiltered, and real. Never held back and was never afraid to speak her mind.

A hard working woman who loved to keep busy. She loved to watch scary movies and would binge watch all her favorite shows. She hated a messy home, and took pride in keeping a clean and welcoming one. She exemplified everything a wife, mother, and grandmother should be. To us, she was truly extraordinary.

She always made sure you were okay before herself. She was always there when you needed her, especially when you needed someone to talk to. Always kept it real, even if you weren't going to like her answer. She is now with her mother Felicita "Yaya" and father Arsenio Aponte, up in heaven. They will keep each other company and will always be by our sides.

She will forever be remembered and cherished by her sister Maritza; her brothers, Lefty and Junior; her nieces and nephews; her loving husband, Speedy; her children, Grisel and Jose; her grandchildren, Soraya Angeli, Sofia, and Matthew; and all of her extended family, friends, and community.
