Frank Anthony Iaizzi Sr. made his final transition into heaven on December 23, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born and raised in Stamford. Following high school, he completed a four-year apprenticeship at Pitney Bowes before being drafted into the US Army. He served as a military policeman. While at Edgewood Arsenal, he met the love of his life, Freda. Together they raised 3 children and were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. For 45 years, he was employed at Pitney Bowes as a tool and die maker and manufacturing engineer. Following retirement, he returned to work as a transportation supervisor at Edgehill for 10 years. He is a member of the Stamford Sports Hall of Fame. His favorite pastimes were duckpin bowling where he achieved a World Record (which still stands today), making memories with his family and friends, trips to the casino, and captaining his bocce team at Scalzi Park. After retirement, he relocated to Lake Hopatcong, N.J. to be near his family where he and his wife would spend lazy afternoons watching the boats go by and playing scrabble. He is survived by his wife Freda, his daughters Michelle and Carol (Tom), his son Frank Jr. (Missey) and sister Patricia Elumba. He was preceded by his parents John Iaizzi, Rose Lionetti Iaizzi and brother-in-law Sean Elumba. Services will be held in Stamford on Tuesday, December 28th at Lacerenza Funeral Home from 4-8pm. Mass will be held on Wednesday December 29th at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be private. Frank will be greatly missed, and we are all better for having been blessed with him in our lives.
