Gaetano A. Capoli, Gus, 94 Stamford, Ct passed away on Saturday Dec. 27th after a long illness. Gus was born on Feb. 19th, 1931, Stamford Ct to Samuel & Amelia Palmer Capoli. Gus joined the US Navy and served on the USS Botteneau. Gus retired as the Facility Mgr. for The Stamford Advocate before opening Avanti, a high-end men's clothing store. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed sailing. Gus is survived by his wife, Marie Rich Capoli and his sister Dorothy C. Bateman of Milford, and his nieces and nephews; Mark Rich, Donna (Rich) Bamford, Michelle (Levay)Passeck, Lisa (Potter) Roy, Robert Potter II and numerous other grand nieces and nephews. Gus is predeceased by his sister Lillian C. Potter, & his nephew Mike Levay. The family would like to thank Kathy Henderson, caretaker and friend to Gus of many years. Family & friends will be received on Friday, January 2nd, 11am to 1pm at the Lacerenza Macari Family 8 Schuyler Avenue Stamford, CT with a prayer service at 1pm. Entombment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
