Grace (Milone) Guarnieri, aged 90, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026.
Grace was born on December 26, 1935, and, as a young girl, loved to point out her birthday's closeness to another famous birthday. She was the daughter of the late Teodoro Milone and Helen (Faugno) Milone and graduated from Stamford High School '53.
Grace met her husband, Michael Guarnieri, through a group of friends and they were inseparable during over 68 years of marriage, which produced two children, Michael Stephen Guarnieri and Gina Lynn Bucciferro (Christopher), and two grandchildren, Hannah Grace Bucciferro and Cara Igina Bucciferro, all of whom survive her.
Her first job was as a Bookkeeper at Fidelity Trust Co., where she honed her softball skills and met many lifelong friends. Sadly, as was common at the time, when she was expecting her first child, her career at Fidelity ended. After the children were old enough, she resumed her career, this time as a Media Specialist in the Stamford Public Schools. Grace was later employed as an Insurance Analyst at MetLife in Stamford.
Grace enjoyed getting together with friends and family and was generally the life of the party. Her 'progressive dinners' are still spoken about today, as is her commitment to family, where she made the traditional Italian Sunday dinner for a large group almost every week. She also loved to travel, whether on a short visit to the Catskills, or one of her seven visits to Turks & Caicos. Grace played tennis and golf with friends for many years and was also a diehard Yankees fan.
Grace was a parishioner of St. Cecilia-St. Gabriel Catholic Church, where her services will be held privately.
Grace was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony Milone and Theodore Milone.
The family would like to thank the professional, caring, and compassionate staff at Brighton Gardens of Stamford, especially Marcia, Monique, and the Reminiscence Team and Karen and the entire team at Caring Hospice.
Grace's arrangements are in the care of Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. To leave an online condolence please visit www.lacerenzafh.com
