Grace Zaccagnino

Grace Zaccagnino (DeBartolomeo) passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2026 at Waveny Care Center with her loved ones by her side. Grace was born on December 18th, 1928 in Stamford, CT of the late Michael and Mary (Verrastro) DeBartolomeo and is a graduate of Stamford High School. She recently turned 97 years young at her home complete with her favorite things, chocolate, flowers and family. Grace worked alongside her husband, at their place of business, Sal's Variety Shop on Cove Rd. Both Sal and Grace enjoyed numerous trips including going to the Holy Land, as their Catholic was of upmost importance to them. Out of all their global trips, Italy remains their favorite place. They enjoyed spending winters in their Florida home with family and friends. Grace played golf, tennis and Bocce. She was a talented member of the Stamford Bocce Women's league for several years with great lifelong friends. Grace was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, her brothers Frank (Gloria), Michael (Marie) and sister Rose (Frank)also Tony (Janet), Beatrice (Henry) and her grandson, Christopher. She is survived by her four daughters: MaryAnn (Pasqua), Donna (Nick), Linda (John), Sally (Bill). Grace had nine adoring grandchildren, Jacqueline (Tyler), Jennifer (Ben), Nicholas (Daphney), Michael, Johnny (Jenny), Lauren (Brandon), and Valerie and William. Grace was further blessed with 9 great grandchildren, Zachary, Harrison, Victoria, Charlotte, Nolan, Graham, Belandi, Kalais, and Kassani. Eighteen of the people that she cherished most and who will miss her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 29, 2026, from 4-7pm at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 30, 2026, at 10am at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Burial will follow at St. John Cemtery in Darien.

Donations may be made in her name to Make a Wish Foundation (CT Chapter) or Connecticut Children's Medical center.
