Our dearest Janice Lynne Ginotti peacefully passed away on May 10th at the age of 72.
Janice was born in Stamford, CT to the late Ruben and Violet (Bongo) Navarro and lived in Stamford for most of her life. She is predeceased by her brother Ramon Navarro of Scottsdale, Az. She is survived by her husband, Paul Ginotti of Stamford, CT, brother Rudy Navarro of Tacoma, WA, half-sisters by birth, but whole in love and soul Linda Rincon and Marlene Alegria, both of Tucson, AZ and Cris Navarro of Chico, CA
After graduating from Stamford High School and the University of Connecticut, Janice was a Sales and Use Tax Specialist with GTE in Stamford for most of her professional career. She cherished her time in the Tax Section, making many lifelong friendships. She always looked forward to a night out with “The Girls”. This treasured tradition continued even after Janice’s retirement.
Janice enjoyed handwork such as counting cross stitch and especially crocheting. Many a family member received a lap blanket at some point in their life. She was a loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and never met a little baby that she didn’t want to nuzzle. Her fondest memories were growing up on Knickerbocker Ave., with her family, relatives and friends, all so close, by exemplifying the phrase “it takes a village…”. She is now sharing recipes with her beloved Aunt Lucy and reminiscing with cousin Gerri and her husband Ed about their road trips to Minnesota to see Uncle Chiggy, Aunt Lucy, Ray and Lucile and their children.
Family and friends will be received at the Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue Stamford, CT on Thursday morning on May 29th from 9 am to 11 am. A Funeral Mass will be held thereafter at 11:30 at Saint Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford, CT. Burial will be private.
A very special thanks are given to the exceptional staff of The Bridges by Epoch in Norwalk, CT, memory care assisted living, where Janice spent many years under their loving care. Thanks also to RVNA Health for the medical and hospice care they provided for her.
