With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffrey T. Curtis Sr., 69, of Stamford, CT, who left this world on July 15, 2025, at Stamford Hospital. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family - the same family he spent a lifetime protecting, guiding, and loving with unwavering devotion.
Jeff was a man of quiet strength, fierce loyalty, and endless generosity. He was the rock of his family, the kind of man who led not just with words, but with action, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility. He is survived by his wife and soulmate of nearly 51 years, Rose Coscarelli-Curtis, who stood by his side through life's every chapter. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and family - their greatest joy.
He leaves behind his son, Jeffrey T. Curtis Jr., and his daughter, Christina Curtis-Horvath, and her husband, Joe Horvath, all of whom carry his spirit in the way they love and care for others. Jeff was a proud and devoted grandfather to Joey and Aidan Horvath, who brought light and happiness to his life in immeasurable ways.
A lifelong Stamford resident, Jeff graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School in 1973, specializing in mechanical drafting. He went on to serve as Operations Manager in Facilities Management at Stamford Hospital for 27 years, later continuing his career at Norwalk Hospital for 5 years. His commitment to his work and colleagues was a reflection of the pride he took in doing things right - with integrity and heart.
Jeff also believed deeply in giving back to the community that raised him. From 1991 to 1998, and again beginning in 2019, he served on various city committees. His most recent and proudest role was as President of Stamford's 31st Board of Representatives, where he worked to create a better future for the city he loved.
A man of deep faith, Jeff was a longtime and devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, where he once served as Parish Council President. For many years, he led the parish's beloved annual carnival and spearheaded numerous fundraisers - always with a servant's heart and a smile. His tireless commitment to the Church reflected his values of generosity, humility, and community.
He was predeceased by his parents, whose memories he cherished, and whose values he carried forward every day.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Friday, July 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19th at 9:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. He will be laid to rest immediately after at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford, CT.
In honor of Jeff's compassion and love for children, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Though our hearts are broken, we are comforted knowing that his legacy - of love, service, and quiet heroism - lives on in all of us who were blessed to know him.
