Lucy Caroline Lucia Procaccini, “Nonnie”, 91, of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025 at Norwalk Hospital.
Born on January 14, 1934 in Stamford, CT the daughter of the late Salvatore Lucia and Frances Tomaselli Lucia, Lucy lived a long and full life devoted to family and love. She graduated from Stamford High School.
Lucy was a homemaker and her greatest joy was her family. She loved creating art, and through the years she spent time bringing beauty into the world through her drawing and painting. She loved to crochet and gave her creations as gifts and donations to the VA Hospital in New Haven. She was a breast cancer survivor of over 20 years. She volunteered at Honey Hill convalescent Home and won a Home Town Hero award for her work.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, whose warmth, humor and spirited personality left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren. Her four great grandsons where the light of her life in her later years keeping her forever young. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the love she shared so generously.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Donna-Marie (Procaccini) Forcier and her husband, James; her son, Luciano Procaccini, Jr. and his wife, MaryEllen; her grandchildren, Jared Forcier and his wife, Jessica; Laine (Forcier) de Souza and her husband, Frederico; Michael Procaccini and Michelle Sandone; and Megan (Procaccini) Byrne and her husband, Dan; her great grandchildren, Luca, Noah, and Nicholas de Souza and John Forcier. She is also survived by her sister, June Rylander and her husband, Carl, her sister, Rhonda Delmazio, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lucy is also predeceased by her beloved husband, Luciano B. Procaccini, Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, her sister, Marion Guarino, and her brother, Anthony Lucia.
Family and friends will be received on June 11, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Funeral Mass will be held on June 12, 2025 at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Burial will immediately follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford, CT.
