Theresa S. Cipolla, 94, a resident of Stamford, Ct, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by her family. Theresa was born on June 30, 1927, in Stamford, the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Scutti. She graduated from Stamford High, where she met her future husband, Joseph, in a case of love at first sight. They were married in 1951. Theresa worked as a secretary at the Stamford Probate Court for 6 years. While Joseph was in the Navy stationed in Portsmouth, Virginia, they started a family, and soon moved back to Stamford where, as her family grew, they eventually moved into a house in North Stamford. She was known for her traditional Italian home-made cooking and was the inspiration for others to learn to cook. She was willing to share her secrets and the share the kitchen with anyone willing to help. In addition, she loved the daily crossword puzzle, keeping up with the latest mystery novel, and swam every day, being awarded several times for her swimming accomplishments. Theresa always displayed a smile, a welcoming heart, was non-judgmental, and wanted to know about everything one was doing. She was a good listener and could be relied on for the best advice. She will be sorely missed. Theresa is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Cipolla; her children, Karen Cipolla and her husband Chris Perry; William Cipolla; Ronald Cipolla and his wife Eileen Cipolla; Wendy Boccuzzi and her husband Steve Boccuzzi; Amy Cipolla; and by her grandson Sean Boccuzzi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9th at 11am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford.
