In Loving Memory of
Welwyn Luke Wynthrop Cope
Sunrise September 9, 1960 - Sunset June 23, 2026

With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Welwyn Luke Wynthrop Cope, who peacefully departed this life at his residence in Stamford, Connecticut, on June 23, 2026, at the age of 65.

Welwyn was born on September 9, 1960, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Patricia Lyrch and Neville Cope. From an early age, he carried himself with quiet strength, humility, and kindness-qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

A humble and gentle soul, Welwyn was a man of few words whose actions spoke volumes. He had a deep love for music and found great joy in DJing and singing, bringing happiness to those around him through the songs he played and the melodies he shared. His calm presence, warm heart, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered.

Welwyn leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always. He is survived by his devoted wife, Valrie Cope; his beloved children, Samantha, Keno, Romaro, Kareem, and Amelia; his cherished grandchildren; his dear brothers, Problyn and Alwyn; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and quiet spirit.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the memories he gave us, the values he instilled, and the love he shared so generously. His legacy will live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.

Calling hours will be held on July 10, 2026, from 9-11 AM at Lacerenza-Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. A Prayer Service will begin at 10 am. A Burial will follow immediately at Fairfield Memorial Park.
